The Governing Council of Asian-African Chamber of Commerce & Industry has announced today the appointment of Mr Sandeep Sekhri as the Chamber’s 1 st President, effective 2 nd October 2018.
Mr Sekhri brings to the AACCI an ability to understand the needs, challenges and aspirations of entrepreneurs based on his extensive entrepreneurial journey.
Mr Sekhri serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Dining Concepts Holdings Limited and also has been its Executive Director since September 11, 2002. Mr. Sekhri is the Founder of Dining Concepts Group. He has overseen the growth and diversification of Dining Concepts Group since its inception and is primarily responsible for overseeing and planning the business strategies and the overall management of Dining Concepts Group. Mr. Sekhri has over 22 years of experience in hospitality and full-service restaurant industries in Hong Kong and India. Prior to founding Dining Concepts Group, from 1987 to 1990, Mr. Sekhri worked at Taj Mahal Hotel and Le Meridien Hotel in India as Restaurant Manager and Assistant Manager, where he was primarily responsible for managing the operation of the hotels. From 1990 to 1992, he served as a Restaurant Manager of The Viceroy Restaurant in Hong Kong. From 1992 to 1995, he became a General Manager of The Gaylord Indian Restaurant, where he was responsible for the general management of the restaurant. In 1995, he was appointed as Managing Director of Harilela Strategic Investments Limited from 1995 to August 28, 2002. He serves as a Director of all the subsidiaries of Dining Concepts Holdings Limited.

Mr Sekhri received a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from University of Delhi in April 1988 and a Diploma in Hotel Management Catering and Nutrition from Board of Technical Education Delhi in April 1987.
The chamber was earlier founded in 2015 by CIHF (Confederation of International Healthcare Foundation), established and registered under B.P.T. Act XXIX of 1950, Government of India, Since 2005, by the presidents/representatives of various Commerce Chambers and professionals of high repute from the entire Asian-African region with a view to giving the business community of both this region a voice and a tool to foster development and realize UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030. To translate that vision into reality, the founding members of AACCI set to create transnational corporations, which would have presence in all associated member countries and whose capital would be built by nationals of all 102 prospective member countries.
Asian-African Chamber of Commerce & Industry (AACCI), Foundation is registered in the state of Delaware, USA as a private, non-stock corporation to act as a trade & business promoting chamber supporting SMEs and industries by means of representing them as bilateral chamber for the Asian and African region and help them to build better economic growth and sustainable business. This corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, religious or educational purposes within the meaning of section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Asian-African Chamber of Commerce & Industry (AACCI) is also registered in Sri Lanka under the Companies Act, No 7 of 2007
Asian-African Chamber of Commerce & Industry is the premier non-profit, privately funded non- government organization which serves as the key liaising body representing the views of both African and Asian business and enterprises having business interest in their respective countries. As the voice of business, the Chamber’s core objective is to advocate for free and enterprise with Member Countries’ Parliament, Industry Commissions, regulatory bodies such as WTO, and governments around the Africa-Asian countries.
AACCI has set a goal to propel the major integration projects initiated by the esteemed governments of the countries to their effective realization and initiate a dialogue to eradicate trade deficiencies through multi-lateral advocacy programmes.
AACCI promotes the interests of its member’s businesses while cooperatively working to establish an environment and economic climate for success in the business community in Asian and African. The ACCI provides platform for profitable interaction between the African and Asian business communities to enhance trade and commerce in their respective countries.
